Summer Game Fest 2026: The Show in Numbers
Summer Game Fest 2026 ran from June 1 through June 9, with the main showcase on June 5 at 5 PM ET, live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Geoff Keighley and Lucy James hosted two hours of announcements, world premieres, and gameplay reveals covering everything from AAA blockbusters to indie passion projects.
Here’s every announcement that mattered from Summer Game Fest 2026.
The Final Fantasy VII Trilogy Comes to an End
The final announcement of Summer Game Fest 2026 was the biggest. Final Fantasy VII Revelation — the closing chapter of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy — got its world premiere at SGF 2026. The trailer showed the Highwind, new gameplay with Cid and Vincent Valentine, and confirmed the game’s subtitle.
After Remake in 2020 and Rebirth in 2024, Revelation is the ending fans have been waiting for. No release date yet. The wait continues.
Resident Evil Code Veronica Is Back
Capcom confirmed at Summer Game Fest 2026 that Resident Evil: Code Veronica — long considered the most deserving unremade classic in the franchise — is getting the full modern treatment, arriving in 2027.
The original Code Veronica came out in 2000 and never received the remake treatment that transformed RE2 and RE3 into modern masterpieces. That changes next year.
Platinum Games x TMNT: The Last Ronin
One of the biggest surprises of Summer Game Fest 2026: the newly formed Paramount Game Studios announced TMNT: The Last Ronin in partnership with Platinum Games.
The official tagline: “In a future, battle-ravaged New York City, a lone surviving Turtle embarks on a seemingly hopeless mission seeking justice for the family he lost.”
It’s Platinum. It’s TMNT. The premise writes itself.
The Wolf Among Us 2 Is Really Happening
After years of on-again, off-again development uncertainty, Telltale confirmed at Summer Game Fest 2026 that The Wolf Among Us 2 is in active development and arriving in 2027. A remaster of the original episodic series is also coming later in 2026 to get everyone caught up.
Bigby Wolf is back. Fabletown is back. The discourse about what happened between the two games is already back.
The Surprises Nobody Saw Coming
Summer Game Fest 2026 closed with a wave of unexpected announcements:
- Stellar Blade: Blood Rain — a standalone sequel from Shift Up, following a new protagonist named Evie in a faster, more brawler-focused direction
- Alien Isolation 2 — confirmed and in development
- Attack on Titan 3 — from Koei Tecmo
- Gundam — new game from Bandai Namco arriving 2027
- Hot Wheels Infinite Rush — an open-world Hot Wheels game nobody asked for and somehow everyone wants to play
